The Connecticut Adult Baseball League (CTABL) will hold a open tryout at Kevin Legare Memorial Baseball Field (formerly Town Hall Field) in Willington, CT on Sunday, April 11th, 2021 at 11 AM – 2 PM (April 18th may be used as the rain out date).
CTABL is a “wooden bat” league that plays approximately 18 games (7 innings/game) in its regular season which runs from April to October. Games are played in towns such as Vernon, New Britain and Willington on Sunday mornings. This league is open to anyone 18 and over with the desire to play baseball.
On April 11th, please bring a wooden bat, a glove, cleats and any other optional equipment that you’d like to use (batting glove, etc…). The open tryout will include warm-ups, a 60 yard dash, pop time (for catchers), defensive drills (infielders/outfielders), pitcher warm-up, light bullpen and some good old fashion batting practice. Draft will take place immediately after the tryouts.
In the event you are drafted, you will need a check made out to GHIBL for $225.00 or you can pay on-site using Venmo.
Congratulations to the Royals who are the GHIBL 2019 Postseason Champions.
The Royals won the regular season with a record of 16-1, earning them the top seed in the postseason. They swept their way to reclaiming their postseason crown from 2017. The (#6) Hoss Dental squad had an amazing playoff run, but they fell short against the Royals in the championship series.
