Royals no hit the Chiefs behind an outstanding performance by Bill Riggieri and pull away to win 9-0. Riggieri struck out 13 and walked none, only allowing one baserunner. Adam Malinowski kept the Chiefs in it early with his work on the mound, but ran out of gas in the 4th. Jon Sykes broke it open in that key 4th inning with a base-clearing double. Other Royals key contributors include Jay Banks who had an excellent day at the plate going 2-2 with 3 runs scored, a double and RBI triple. Shane Legare reached base all three plate appearances and added two RBI singles and a run scored. Dan Copes added 2 RBI, a stolen base and a run scored. Kevin Linskey came out of retirement and went 1-2 with a RBI, stolen base and run. For the Chiefs, the veteran Steve Sadlak reached base in the 5th.
