Chiefs came out swinging vs the Rockies on Sunday. The Chiefs put up 4 runs in the first and never looked back. When all was said and done the Chiefs put up at least one run in every inning accept for the 3rd and won 11-0. Adam Malinowski got the start for the Chiefs. It was his first start of the season. He went 3 strong innings allowing 3 Hits and striking out 4. Tyler Smith 2 IP 0 H 3 K and Eric Malinowski closed the game, 2 IP 0 H 4 K, for the Chiefs and secured the first shut out of the season. Luke Sacharczyk swung a hot bat Sunday and continued his assault on the base paths, going 2-3 with 2 SBs. Eric Malinowski also had a nice day at the plate going 2-3 with a booming double to left. He amassed 3 RBI on the day tying him for the league lead. Ben Hafford picked up his first two hits of the season going 2-4. Mike Angeli, Brian Peer, Jimmy Marino and Adam Malinowski all had hits and an RBI on the day. Chiefs square off with the reigning Champion Royals in a finals rematch Sunday 5/21-10am at Henry Park in Vernon.
