2019 Season
Hoss vs Royals
The Rockville Royals defeated the Hoss Dental to secure the 2019 GHIBL championship. The Royals won 12-2 in 5 innings with consistent offense throughout the lineup, and the solid pitching of Shane Legare and Eric Rubelmann. Legare aka “Big Show” went 4 strong innings giving up only 2 hits and 1 earned run, and Rubelmann shut the door with a strong 2 strikeout inning. Offensively, the Royals were led by several standouts. Scott Clouser went 2-3 with 3 RBI. Eric Rubelmann went 3-3 with 2 runs scored and an impressive RBI double. Rich Hilton continued to pile up the career playoff stats, going 2-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Tim Field wrapped up his excellent playoff run while in his 14th season, going 1-2 with a run scored. Joe “Junior” Antonelli, also in his 14th season, provided veteran leadership as well, going 1-1 with a run scored. Carl “Hot Dog Man” Guglietta and went 1-2 with a RBI while securing his first Eric M. Hoss Cup after many years of seeking the ultimate GHIBL prize. Curtis “Prodigal Son” Anthony added 2 RBI and a run scored. Matt Garvais went 1-1, while Matt Eliseo went 1-2. Hoss Dental was led by Alex Hoss who went 1-2 with a triple and a run scored. Jake Kalette went 1-2 with a run scored, while Matt Harrington added a RBI.
Royals vs Hoss
The Rockville Royals defeated Hoss Dental 6-2 in Game 1 of the GHIBL championship. The Royals were led by the sensational pitching of Bill Riggieiri, and a furious 6 run rally in the bottom of the 4th after knocking at the door in the 1st and 3rd innings. Riggieiri was perfect through 6 innings before faltering late. Bill’s line still ended strong with a complete game, 11 strikeout performance and no free passes. Leading the way offensively for the Royals were several players throughout the lineup, led by Curtis Anthony and Carl Guglietta. Curtis “Prodigal Son” Anthony went 2-3 with a RBI and run scored. The wily veteran Carl Guglietta continued his clutch playoff performances at the plate, going 1-1 with a BB and RBI. Rich Hilton was “Mr. Clutch” once again in the playoffs with a key bases-loaded 2 RBI single. Josh Svoboda went 1-2 with a BB, RBI and run scored. Shane Legare went 1-2 with a BB. Tim Field went 1-3 and chipped in a run scored to continue his hot playoff run. Scott Clouser added a run scored. For Hoss Dental, Alex Hoss and Matt Harrington both went 1-3 with a run scored, and Jake Kalette had a 2 RBI single.
