The Rockville Royals deafeated the Badgers 5-4 in a close back and forth game. After the Royals jumped out to a 3-0 lead, the Badgers clawed their way back, eventually taking the lead 4-3 in the top of the 6th. However, the Royals responded with two runs in the bottom of the 6th and Shane Legare shut the door for the complete game win. Shane also struck out 11 Badgers. At the plate for the Royals, Dan Copes triumphantly returned from injury and picked up where he left off, reaching base all three plate appearances and chipping in a RBI and an unlikely stolen base. Curtis Anthony also reached base all three trips, adding two hits, a RBI and a run scored. Rich Hilton continued to be clutch in the playoffs, going 1-2 with a RBI. For the Badgers, Doug Evans pitched well going the distance striking out 9. Rebuen Shirshac went 2-2 with 2 runs scored. Eli Carpenter hit a double.
Phillies win game 2 in double header vs the Rockies behind strong start from Joe Bender who struck out 9 over 7 innings while giving up 3. Runs scored by Dan Cummins, Nico Piscopo, and Jon Werme in the 4th inning tied the game at 3 with the go-ahead run coming off of Wix’s single in the 5th scoring Joe Bender. For the Rockies, Elijah Laraba, Matt Boutilier, and Matt Ellis each collected a hit and also scored a run. Casey Rival of the Rockies surrendered 4 runs on 8 hits over 6 innings of pitching.
