The Badgers and Royals opened up the season on a sunny but brisk Sunday morning at Henry Park, and this one was all Badgers. Five Badgers had multi-hit games, with the highlights coming from Parker Bennett and Kyle McBride. McBride smashed a bases clearing double in his first game wearing purple and orange, while Bennett, playing for the first time since 2024, hit a solo homer to straightaway center in the 4th. Mike Levesque reached base four times, swiping four bags and scoring four times. Doug Evans went the distance on the mound, nearly earning a shutout.
Gio Morales had two hits of his own for the Royals, and came around to score the lone run of the game. Rookie Preston Hunt got the start on the mound, striking out three in as many innings.
